Wyoming travel

We must drive from Gillette,WY to Star Valley Ranch near Afton, WY. We are.concerned about pulling our 30’ trailer with our GMC 150 through the mountain passes in Tetons. Is there a good southern route?

Compare the WY 28 Southern route, it's only about 30 minutes longer. I've driven 26 and there are some steep grades with no place to pull over to rest the pickup.
Consider buying a Western states mountain directory, it has all the grades and elevations.

The direct route is 470 mi via 26/191/89 south.

This route is 506 mi.:

50/259/I-25 south to Casper, WY

Continue south on 257/220/287 toward Lander, WY

28 south to Fontenelle to Kemmerer

30 west to Hwy 89 north to Afton.
