Preliminary plans have been made with the Evergreen RV Resort located in mid-Ohio in the heart of the Amish Country to hold the 2009 rally from June 14-20. The whole campground has been reserved, minus a few sites they use for work campers. This area is geared toward the Amish culture, shopping, flea markets, canoing and a ton of other things to do for all ages.

Why did it change from Elkhart??? Would have been a good chance to go to rally and then to the factory for any repairs that may have been needed.

It turned out that we didn't have anyone to be the wagonmaster for an Elkhart area rally, the one we had withdrew his offer and no one else stepped forward to carry the torch. Nothing had been finalized for that event so our founder and co-owner "Warpath" stepped up to the plate and offered to be the wagonmaster of the 2009 event and has selected mid-Ohio as the location.
The mid-Ohio area has a lot to offer and I think we'll have a great rally and we'll all have a good time.
FWIW, we're also in need of someone to take handle a 2010 rally.

I think it is a ggod idea to plan the Rally dates 2 years in advance, For me, as I am still in the 'Work' situation it gives me a chance to book holidays.
We have the '09 Rally on the calendar and hope to be there!!!!

I just checked the Evergreen RV Resort site and it came up quickly and I had no problem navigating it. Whatever problem their site may have had earlier, it has been resolved. It looks like a very nice campground....although way too far away for me. Perrin is about 6 hours away from me and that is further than I can comfortably travel now. One of these days I hope I can retire and travel, but until then I have to stay close to home. I am grateful that I will be able to attend this year's rally and I hope more people will come down here so I get a chance to meet ya'll.

We plan to attend the 2009 Rally in Ohio too. It might even be a "pleasant" change in the weather - altho, one can never tell with those quickie valley t-storms 'n tornado's...
Hope to see you all there!

Now that this thread has "announced" the 2009 location and in order to direct our FULL attention to the news of the still yet to occur 2008 Rally, I am closing this thread.
We hope to see as many of you at both rallies as we can....

It's been a long time since I've checked in on irv2.com, but I received my email newsletter today and decided I'd check in with all of the "oldies" here and say hello.
Donnie and I are now full-time residents in Apache Junction, Arizona. I am the "Lifestyles Director" at MountainBrook Village in Gold Canyon. www.mountainbrookvillage.org Donnie is working full-time again at Lowe's here. He loves it, believe it or not!
We sold our park model, left the fiver in Michigan at the campground so that when we visit we have a place to stay, and just moved in to a 2-bedroom home that we feel we "stole" because of the market.
If any of you come to Arizona at any time, please feel free to email us and we'd love to see you.
I really enjoyed my time as editor of irv2.com newsletter when we first got started here and all of your friendship and information was invaluable to us in the five years we were on the road.
We will be in Ohio the week of the National Rally for the in-laws 60th wedding anniversary, so hopefully we'll be able to scoot on over to Canton for a day and catch up with all of you!
Take care and safe travels!
