Since many of you will be travelling through this stretch on the weekends (coming to or leaving the Rally), the following won't matter, but it might for those heading out to destinations during the week the Rally is going on:
8+ miles of I-77 are being resurfaced from just north of the New Philadelphia Exit (Exit 81) to just south of Stone Creek. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during working hours, Monday through Friday. No work will occur on the weekends. All lanes will be open to traffic by noon on Fridays until work resumes at 6 a.m. on Mondays.
There are a couple sections of lane restrictions on I-77 between Marietta & Caldwell OH that I know of. Bridge painting have north & southbound lanes down to 1 lane for very brief sections.
There are also some lane shifts on I-71 between RT 61 & RT 95 (north of Columbus). They are preparing this section to be widened to 3 lanes & they have been working on the bridges first. 2 lane traffic is maintained in both directions.
If anyone wants to check on OH roadway construction conditions, please check out
BuckeyeTraffic.org. It's an interactive map that will show you areas of closures/restrictions.
