Oh My! I think we would have to find a bigger camp ground!!I can't think of anywhere near here that would be able to handle that kind of crowd. Topsail in Destin Florida would have a hard time with that especially with all of our snow birds in the winter and spring and summer tourists. Thanks for the info..

2013 rally
In 2004 we had about 60 rigs, less each year. Madame Boomer probably has the actual stats. Once someone decides to be wagonmaster there is no reason for that person to do it all. Put out your requirements for help and if there are no volunteers to help then the wagonmaster would have no option other than to cancel said rally.
Just my thoughts. Nancy

The Crossroads Of America (Tearjerkers teardrop gathering) had 140 teardrop trailers in McCormick’s Creek State Park (Spencer , IN) last year. My point, there is no outlay as every one was responsible for their own reservations.

There is never any problem getting a number of rigs to a campground. The regional chapters do it all the time. The work is in the vendor space, food and space to feed up to 300 members, entertainment, scheduling of all the events.... etc. In 2012 the members DID make their own reservations, but we ran out of RESERVED spaces, which was a good thing, but caused extra work for the wagon masters, at least one of them . The members can get together anywhere and anytime they wish. The national rally is not just a get together. D

There's a HUGE difference between a National (or even a Texas Boomers) Rally and a "get-together" where everyone just shows up and hangs out together. My wife has wagonmastered two (2) iRV2 National Rallys, so I'm well aware of all the background work required to pull one off.

Hey, we can live without a "Rally". Take the pressure off - How about just a designated site for a national "get-together" for 2013 (see post #242 and #243 above) and start planning the 2014 for a nice Rally?

Having lived in the Western 'burbs of DC for most of my adult life..
Where would we put 100 rigs? (realestate is very expensive in Metro DC so there are not many RV parks, and the ones that we do have are not large by Rally standards)
Maybe Gettysb'g and have tour busses run to DC..
