Thanks John I was hoping someone would set up a PIC site. Last year Jay Monroe did it and I sure am glad you are here to do it for us this year. Thanks again. Jim

We kicked things off today with registration & our welcome dinner. Unfortunately, I was too busy coordinating things to take pictures during registration. But I DID remember to tell Dave to take some pictures at dinner tonight.
Our caterers Jeff & Cindy (Dostal Catering out of Cedar Rapids) fed us BBQ pork sandwiches, coleslaw, 7-layer salad, baked beans, party potatoes, assorted cookies & drinks. It was very yummy.
Members enjoying the meal & making new friends.
After dinner we gave away a few door prizes & then Jon Childers, manager of the RV park, gave a very informative talk on the history & culture of the Amana Colonies.
Petro set the timer on coffee so it would be ready for the Monday AM coffee rush. Then it was lights out for the night.

Just had to share this one.
You know it's dry in the campground when the gophers "thirteen striped ground squirrels" drink from the AC catch bin and stay there long enough to get a couple pictures. Rally is going well, Thanks to Lori and her helpers!

Mr. Morgan, where are Mrs. Morgan's famous cookies ?
Wish we were there but not to happen this year. Maybe next year at the beach. Glad you are all having a good time and safe travels.

Wish we were there as well. Even though we are only 165 miles away, I agreed to work the months of Sept and Oct before heading south. Have a great rally.

Gary;
We of course missed you and Julia this year. We had a table next to the wall by a electrical outlet where the coffee and cookies were offered. I asked for a show of hands last night of those interested in coffee this morning. I estimated about 50 hands so we made about 90 cups. By 9 AM the pot was nearly gone. I remember how you helped me get started with the morning coffee hour. Thank you again my friend. We had many positive comments on the cookies and coffee.

Touring in Amana Colonies
We did the first 9am walking tour, good choice in this heat. Just a few shots from our cruising around. Really enjoyed Fernhill Shop in Homestead and the Original style General Store in High Amana. Although I am having a terrible time uploading any pics. So I'm not sure any are going to come thru.....
