rvbunz – Bob & Denise, Jacksonville, NC, Entertainment
Lady Puffin – Lynn & Linda, Whitney, TX, Rally Team

Ocean Lakes located at the south end of Myrtle Beach, ranks in the top 1% of campgrounds in the United States providing outstanding customer service and amenities. It is operated by an award-winning team who strive to provide the best family-friendly resort destination, year-round.

Today, Ocean Lakes features 859 campsites, 2,566 annual lease sites on 310 oceanfront acres with nearly one mile of beachfront, five bathhouses and more than 500 employees in the height of the camping season. It is the largest campground on the east coast and one of the largest in the United States.

Ocean Lakes is currently accepting reservations for the 2019 International Rally. When looking at the
Campground Map, we are going to be located on the following "Ocean Front" sites, HH, H, and I. When calling Ocean Lakes Reservations, please ID yourself as a "2019 iRV2 International Rally" attendee. You may ask for the next available site in a section OR ask for a specific site by the site name (letter and a number) on the map to see if it's available. If there are 2 or more rigs in your party, please book all your sites at the same time allowing you to park "closer" together. There is no guarantee that you will all be parked consecutively "unless" you book early. At this early date, we already have 40+ iRV2 members that have booked sites.

Please call Ocean Lakes Reservations at 877.510.1413 for information or to book your campsite.

If you do not have an RV available and you want to attend the Rally, consider staying in a beachfront multi bedroom house. Call House Rental Reservations at 800.845.2229. You can search availability and view photos of the properties. Myrtle Beach has an International Airport just minutes away from the campground. You can rent a car and come and join us.

Campsite reservations require a 50% deposit and the balance on arrival. If you pay 100% of the reservation fees for 6 nights, you will be mailed what is called an "
Express Check-In Package." The express package will contain your parking pass and map of the facility. Just show the pass to the gate guard and drive right on in to your site. "No delay or waiting in line." The rally rate is $59.00 (+12% tax) per night.

Please note that we have implemented a 2-fee policy;

1 - Campsite Reservations (Independently booking your site with Ocean Lakes)
2 - Rally Fees (The cost for rally support items, meals, entertainment and "optional" off-site shows, venues or group meals)

Having a dual fee policy allows you to pick the best site that is suited for your particular RV while giving you the flexibility to order optional rally options that interest you. We encourage you to make your campground reservations today. Please contact our registrar “gMw” via private mail and let him know you have reserved a campsite. Over the next few weeks, the Rally Itinerary and Meal Plan will become fully developed. We reserve the right however to add or change events to the on-line itinerary up until the close of registration.

For those of you that would like to rent a Golf Car for the time that you are at the rally, bring your Rally ID (neck wallet) to the Golf Car rentals. When you show your credential, you will be offered a 50% discount. Please bring your photo ID (Driver’s License) as it will be required.

Electric Pressure Cooker (Instant Pot) Class

The "instant pot," a small kitchen appliance, is one of the latest crazes to hit the culinary world with consumers touting health benefits and ease of use in the trendy appliance. If you're interested in gaining knowledge and confidence on the use of an Electric Pressure Cooker, you'll want to attend the RV Instant Pot food preparation class offered by Lady Puffin (Linda Day) on Wednesday morning at 9:00am.

Course Materials are $6.00 and include a take away "Pressure Cooker Guide" with tips and recipes. Please register and pay for your materials using Registration OnLine. Class size is limited to 50, so you'll want to sign up early for this class.

Broadway at the Beach is a shopping center and entertainment complex located in Myrtle Beach.

The $250 million attraction is set on 350 acres in the heart of Myrtle Beach and features three theaters, over 20 restaurants and over 100 specialty shops as well as attractions, nightclubs, and hotels, all surrounding the 23-acre Lake Broadway. Broadway at the Beach receives upwards of 14 million visitors annually.

Join the gang for a Luncheon at the Liberty Steakhouse and a fun filled afternoon of shopping. Meet and depart from the Recreation Center at 11:00a on Tuesday.

Relive Our Historic Past Aboard the USS North Carolina – BB-55

Moored in quiet dignity and majesty the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA, across the river from downtown Wilmington, beckons visitors to walk her decks. Envision the daily life and fierce combat her crew faced in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

Step back in time and let history come alive through the crews’ stories. Imagine yourself steering the ship, starting her engines or even firing the guns. JOIN THE CREW and be a part of Battleship history at the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA!

This optional Tour is scheduled for Friday with a 7:00AM departure via carpool. We begin our shipboard tour at 9:00AM. A special tour for our group has been arranged, be sure to wear your Rally ID during this tour. From the armored Battle Bridge to the lowest deck below the 16-inch guns you can visit many spaces. You will visit inside the main turrets and you will also be amazed with one of the Babcock & Wilcox boiler rooms that propelled the 44,000-ton ship and speeds approaching 28 knots that helped produce a total of a 121,000 Horsepower.

A lunch will be provided in the crew’s galley and you can sit and experience what it might have been like for those Greatest Generation sailors some 75 years ago. Enjoy your time aboard. Although you may leave at any time, we are going to depart the property at approximately 3:00PM for the return trip to Ocean Lakes. Using your GPS you will travel exclusively on NC/SC/US17. It is expected that the 81-mile trip will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. The tour and lunch are priced at $35.00 per person and includes a USS North Carolina souvenir. Come and join us!! Sign up using Registration On-Line.

Superb choice! We, too, had a great time there in 2014. I want to go back to Medieval Times - that was a blast! Below is a picture of the RV's in attendance & the view of the Atlantic from the top of OL's Skate Park.

I attended IRV2’s 10th Anniversary Reunion Rally there in 2010.

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f74/10th-...lly-66441.html

It’s a great place to have a Rally.

Mike and I went to Joey Doggs and ate out of dog bowls. It don’t get any better than that [emoji16]
