Reservations for the 2020 iRV2 International Rally are being made.

I just spoke with the resort and there were a few names on their list that are not on mine. Please don't forget to notify me that you are coming to the rally either in a message in this thread or by Private Mail.

Notifications become more important when we are ready to roll out the CVENT portion (Part 2) of the registration that will allow you to pay your rally fees. We are looking at announcing by June 1 when the CVENT registration page will be available. A number of items will need to be booked locally and inserted in the rally fee structure whether it's included in the rally fee or listed as an optional venue. We are just waiting for those resources to open up so we can book them.

Sevierville Update: As you may know, Tennessee was one of the 1st states to begin opening up their economy. The resort told me that as of today, indoor seating is open for up to 50% occupancy. This will improve over the next few weeks. Small businesses are beginning to open. A number or personal businesses are accepting appointments to keep waiting down to a minimum. Our contact at the resort said that cancellations due to the pandemic have been occurring however those cancellations have been filled with new reservations. The resort said that bookings after Memorial Day are strong and that "June" is already sold out.

I'm sure that you all are getting pretty anxious to get back out on the road. Please do come and join us for the 2020 iRV2 International Rally. Book your site reservation directly with the resort. The rally registration (CVENT) will be forthcoming within the next few weeks if there are no problems that we can expect from Federal, State or local officials with having this rally in late September.

At about the same time I wrote the above article from a 1st person interview with the River Plantation RV Resort, the representative shared with me that the resort was up-ticking in reservations and that the month of June was sold out. New reservations were overshadowing cancellations previously made regarding virus concerns.

In an RV Business press release seen on both RV Life and the iRV2 facebook pages; our CEO Andy shared the following statement.

"Robinowitz said that although the months of March and April were significantly down, a dramatic bounce back is now underway.

Andy Robinowitz

“We saw a really big drop, but now we are seeing web traffic back to normal and actually above our numbers year-over-year,” he said. “I also looked at Goggle Trends, and used some high-level search terms that we also use and this confirmed the traffic numbers on our sites as well.” He added that when he looked at the traffic charts it was a large U-shaped curve. “It looked like a shark took a big bite out of the charts. But thankfully, now that we are on the other side, it looks like we have a whole lot of RVers looking for a place to camp again,” he said.

That IS good news. Just how far back in the archives did you have to go to get THAT picture of Andy?

Lori, I saw him last night on a podcast and he didn't seem that much different.

He even spoke about the frame off restoration of his 1950(s) Airstream that is shown in the background.

Since the 2020 Rally has been postponed until next year, this thread is now closed. We'll start a new attendance thread for 2021 at a later date.

Thank you,
