Overnight stop traveling to (or from) the Rally
For those of you figuring out your routing & taking 77S/64E through WV, if you need a place to catch a few winks, don't forget Tamarack in Beckley allows overnight RV parking.
I asked about Tamarack in a previous thread, HERE, & both Cheryl & Kelly from Tamarack confirmed we're welcome there. If you do take them up on their hospitality, please stop by the Tourist Info Center so they can let their security know you're there (per Kelly's post).
Safe travels, everyone. See you in a bit over 3 weeks!

Thanks. The wife and I are going to go across 64. Do you know this area very well? Are there some campgrounds on this route?
Thanks,

Bull Run is a very nice park. We spent a week there in the spring. I believe we camped at site # 111 and it was nice. Site 105 is a good one too! Getting close to rally time.

I would like to comment and a complement for the West Virginia visitor center we stopped in last year. I can't remember which one but I do remember the two ladies on duty were friendly as heck and had lots of info for rv'ers including overnight parking locations, etc.

Update on Site #
Hi All,
Since it is to late to go back and edit my post, I figured the next best thing to do is just make another one! As for stoping at Bull Run in VA on the way to the National Rally, I will now be on site# 127 from 9/21 - 25/11! So if anyone is in the area please feel free to stop by and say Hey!!

David, we are looking for the same thing. Pickings are sort of slim. We are considering I-81 instead and then cutting back east.

4Fun..
Bethpage is "local" for us.. there once a year.. here is how we go..
Directions are from Opal Virginia, where US-17 splits off of US-29/US-15..
BTW.. The "East Coast" Station just before the turn has some of the best Diesel prices in the area.. missed it? there will be another "East Coast", also on the left as US-17 approaches I-95..
The goal is to stay off of I-95 and US-17 from US-1 to US-301.. BAD ROAD..
US-17 S/Marsh Rd to Lake St - Google Maps
1. Head southeast on US-17 S/Marsh Continue to follow US-17 S 25.6 mi
2. Continue onto US-17 BUS S/Warrenton Rd 2.0 mi
3. Continue onto VA-218 E/Butler Rd/Co Rd 664 Continue to follow VA-218 E 1.4 mi
4. Turn right onto Cool Springs Rd 1.1 mi
5. Turn left onto Kings Hwy 0.6 mi
6. Continue straight to stay on Kings Hwy 19.5 mi
7. Turn right onto US-301 S/James Madison Pkwy Continue to follow US-301 S 6.2 mi
8. Turn left onto US-17 S/Tidewater Trail 52.1 mi
9. Turn left onto State Route 603/Warner Rd 2.4 mi
10. Turn right onto Old Virginia St/State Route 602 1.2 mi
11. Turn left onto Browns Ln/State Route 684 0.7 mi
12. Take the 1st left onto Lake St
Welcome to Virginia..
