1996 Fleetwood 34H Owner saying HI
Happy Halloween ....Good morning... Just offering my New Member Checkin
Kristy and Craig from Louisville KY with their recently bought 1996 Fleetwood Bounder 34H. We had been taking our time doing an interior remodel. We bought the MH to extend our bicycling. It is an enhancement to what we were doing, which was hauling a trailer behind the minivan. Having a hotel on wheels makes the adventure of getting out on longer rides so much more comfortable. The older Bounder has been slightly modified inside to haul our bikes and serve our needs.

Thank you everyone that responded. You are really a great bunch. We are heading north shortly to make a visit to our relatives. New England in the cold weather poses that wonderful challenge...DID I DO ENOUGH to prepare!

Gocoffeer, welcome!
I am certain you will have nothing but great times. After years of leasing Class A's for our summerbike adventures I did the same thing (1996 Pace Arrow). This past summer adventure brought us from OK. to Tx. NM. on to Co., then Ut. we put in around 2500 miles rode everything from Santa Fe, Durango, Fruita, Moab, then on to Winter Park for down hill adventure, got in some climbing and kayacking too! Will be planning our next trip over the winter and doing weekend trips (semi local) between now and then. Am curious as to what mods you have done, and how they have worked out for you.

YZF571: I have a plain Jane non slider 1996 Bounder 34H. I removed the dinette (need the space more than a place to dine) I unbolted the couch and moved it to where the dinette was once placed (in the galley). The space behind the drivers seat received a double bike rack. We pedal recumbent trikes so these are now stacked one above the other. We rid ourselves of carpet. As experienced, now, older people....we want to have an easily maintained non skid flooring that is as durable as possible. We found a a garage floor cover product that is offered by Sam's Club that met our needs and budget. So we re covered the floors everywhere and the entrance plus bathroom. No more carpet around a toilet. It looks great and a lite sweep with that El Cheapo Dirt Devil suck device and a lite sponge mop gets everything (we have lots of pet family). We removed the chair that was bolted by the entrance door. The space was valued there too. I built a platform that covers the stair well for safety. I used a flooring covered piece of 3/4" plywood to cover over the area by the entrance door. this was a safety move...while we have guests staying inside for the nite. Now no one can get up and step by accident into the void. This would constitute the upgrades made to convert the MH to a cycling platform.

WOW! Sounds like you know/knew what you wanted and took decisive steps to get it! I am planning some Moto-X, Mountain Bike specific mods, as of yet I have not executed any though. Am still trying to make sure that they are, or will work out for the best. I had planned on pulling all of the carpet except for the area around the dog house in favor of something easier to clean, and better suited to the task at hand. Could you tell me exactly what it was that you used? Would enjoy some photos too!

Here is a small sample photo of the couch that was moved to the space where the dinette once was stationed and the rack I have installed for my cycles. The flooring that you see is that vinyl garage floor product.
I started a new thread in the Class A section titled "Minor Interior Remodel for Cyclists on 1996 Bounder 34H" and we can discuss the details of my project there.
