1st Motorhome (Michigan)

Hi everyone, my Wife and I just bought out 1st Motorhome (2004 National RV Dolphin). We will pick it up a week from today. We started tent camping, after a storm we moved up to a pop-up camper. Then we got tired of loading and unloading so we moved up to a travel trailer. After the kids moved out we didn't camp much anymore.

Now we are excited to travel in a Motorhome. I joined the forum to look for tips and hopefully learn from you guys so I don't make too many blunders! I will start reading and looking for cool places to go.

Being from Michigan you want to look for warm places to go this time of year! Like maybe Florida!

Thanks guys! Funny you mentioned Florida. That will most likely be our first trip in February. We will probably go for 2 weeks. Trying to figure out some nice places to stay...any recommendations?

Glad you here. (Michigan too) Anyplace has to be warmer and less snowy than Michigan right now.

Welcome Maddog 2020! It appears that John T and I are neighbors and your not that far away either. Had an experience with the Mad Dog 20/20 in college. Still can't look at a bottle of it 45 yrs. later. But anyway, that's another story in itself. One cool place is down in Monroe MI. Sterling state park.

Well, you now have what I consider to be the ultimate travel vehicle. Setting up for the night involves:
1 - Find a flat spot
2 - Turn the engine off.....

Preparing for the day's travel:
1 - Put away the breakfast dishes
2 - Put the extra coffee in the thermos
3 - Start the engine

Where you want to go is up to you, but if you come back here with what you like to see and do, I bet you will have a bag of suggestions to sort through.

Matt - in the shadow of DTW

Wow, this is an active forum! Thanks for nice welcomes. I'm from a small town called Pinckney. Most people don't pick up on the significance of Maddog2020.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look them up.
