Talking 1st Time RV'n from NW Ohio!

Hello. Just purchased our first Travel Trailer, and frankly not sure we did the correct thing. I was directed here by a user from a Jeep Forum I belong to. I'll be posting some questions in the appropriate Thread later.

About me? I'm coffee consuming, God fearing, gaming geek, with a passion for Jeeps. And a tent camper, or was until age caught up with me! Can't even do air mattresses anymore 'cause of the back pain, and the wife won't tent camp at all, since I damn near froze us all to death (not really, but according to her) in Oct. of 2016.

So a camper is my best bet to get us back into the outdoors, and to hit some Jeeping events. I should mention, we have a daughter with a severe food allergy, which means we have to cook most of our food when we are away from home. So, since we are not camping, it's either a hotel with a kitchen, a cabin with a kitchen, but hopefully, we can make this RV thing work!

Welcome to the website. Its a very informational website with a bunch of people who are here to help and enjoy camping. I too am from NW Ohio and after many years of tent camping, my parents upgraded to a pop up and then a pull behind TT (which i eventually bought from them when they upgraded to a nicer newer TT). I then upgraded to a motorhome. My gf isn't a big outdoorsy type so a motor home is about as "roughing it" as she gets.

If im being honest though, I wouldn't sleep in a tent on an air mattress any longer either.

Hi & welcome from another fellow Buckeye! We got up off the air mattress on the ground + tent nearly 20 years ago. Never looked back.

Enjoy the search for your RV.

Let me guess... wondering if your tow vehicle is up to it?

Well, I know both Jeeps can pull it, but I too late learned that one of the two Jeeps isn't going to able to stop it …

So, I'm here to figure out what stays and what goes, and if the travel trailer goes, what do I replace it with? But, I'll get to that post soon, I'm still reading for now …

I just finished a post with the details! Hopefully in the correct thread … But, I was thinking I was gonna pull a 3,184 lbs. trailer with a Jeep two-rated for 2,000 lbs.
