2000 Itasca Horizon?

My husband and I have been looking at Class C rvs for a few months trying to decide what we want. This is our first RV. Today we went to a dealer to check one out and the salesman showed us a class A we were not even considering. Well, my husband fell in love with it and wants it. $40,000, 80,000 miles. With a diesel pusher? I'm not sure about the whole thing. I don't know anything about them so I would appreciate any feedback any of you can give. Thanks

Howdy from SC and welcome to the forums. You are going to hear pros and cons on just about anything you want to buy. The final decision of course is yours, but if there isn't a rush, do your homework.

Welcome and glad to meet you!

There are many threads asking the same question you have posed. Take the time to read through them and to research on the internet for comparable coaches to see how prices are running.

Welcome to the forum. Good advice from Medico. If this coach has been properly taken care of, it should have a lot of years of life remaining. Of course, you will have to continue to care for it.

I have a 2000 Horizon, and generally am pleased with it. I'm not a speed demon, so this coach has all the power I need. The standard engine is a 275 hp Cummins; mine has the optional 300 hp Caterpillar. Same transmission (Allison 6-speed) with either engine.

There are a couple of others on this forum with the same coach or its twin, the Winnebago Journey. I haven't heard any major complaints. One of the greatest features is accessibility of tech data -- Winnebago has searchable files of everything from the coach brochure to wiring diagrams.
