A Little Late

I'm a bit late in introducing myself as I've been lurking for several months while soaking up all of the knowledge on this board.

I am a retired technology facilitator and hopefully by July my husband will be a retired principal. We're entering the RV world after much research and "shopping" and hopefully will get our 2011 Coachmen Encounter by February.

BTW, we're from NC. We're excited about traveling to horse shows, possibly some football games (Go Wolfpack) and then just seeing our great country.

Thanks so much for the great information you've already shared.

Welcome, I hope you've spent some time looking over all the options this forum offers. Got a technical question we have a place for that, looking for some " how to" stuff, we got you covered, please be careful about asking for our opinion on anything cause opinions we have plenty of! lol
One thing you should look at is the Just Conversation area. It's full of folks just like you, retired, or soon to be retired and all looking to traval and see our country. By utilizing the conversation area you'll get a better idea about the poster as opposed to just getting a question answered. One event coming up in Sept not far from you is the IRV2 national rally where you can meet and place a face with some of these posters. Regardless have fun!

Thanks

Thanks all for welcoming me.

As a technology facilitator in a middle school I worked daily with teachers helping them incorporate technology into their classrooms. I did a lot of one on one with the teachers showing them how to use different technologies to enhance their lessons. I also designed and maintained the ever changing web page and was in charge of any and all of the online programs we used. In addition I was the facilitator for our students that participated in NCVPS (NC Virtual Public School). All in all, if it touched on technology I was involved in it. It was a great job and I hated to leave it but long days and a two hour commute got to be too much. Interestingly enough the day I made that difficult decision to retire I was offered a similar job 15 minutes from my house!

Funny, that's what my kids are with me, always showing me things on smart phone, iPad, iPod, seems the pc is almost a thing of the past. To let you know how difficult a student I am, I still have a phone with a rotary dial!

Funny how it works that when you finally make a life decision, you get the offer you wished for previously. I had a similar reaction to my retirement announcement.
