A new member to iRV2 and a proud owner of an Holiday Rambler
I'm glad I found this forum. I just bought my first motorhome after owning a truck camper, and travel trailer. The family and I have been involved with camping for 20+ years. We started with tents, sleeping bags and foam pads. After the kids grew up and moved out, my wife and I desired to try a more luxurious style of camping. Since I had already had a HD pickup I looked into a truck camper. It was cozy for the two of us and our dog. It had all the comforts of home with a generator and a full queen size bed. We had it for 3 fun years until the wife's knees started to complain. Those 4 rear steps and the HIGH step to the "bedroom" had me looking for another option. My first thoughts were looking at some smaller motorhomes. I almost jumped at a 1977 GMC motorhome (the FWD 6 wheel ones) but found out they are getting collector car prices. I settled for a pull behind trailer and had it for one season. It was a nice 24' single slide unit but I never really liked pulling it around and backing it into the camping sites. Leveling it out with 2 x 6 boards got old quick. The motorhome itch was always re-surfacing and after one pain in the butt- back down a tight dead-end trail episode, I scratched that itch. I did a lot of research (mostly on this site) on some of the older motorhomes that would be in my price range and quality that I wanted. After looking around and looking over several other brands, I came across the one I own now. Its a 1996 Holiday Rambler Endeavor LE 34' with a tag axle. At first I was worried about the size and length. After driving it around a bit, I found it easier than my pull behind. I had to worry about the height and width of the truck camper and the travel trailer anyway. They both were very close in height and width as the motorhome. A older couple who owned my coach and took care of her mechanically but was not able to some of the minor wear and tear issues that age causes. I started going thru her from front to back, top to bottom and so far found a few minor blems. I do plan to upgrade the lighting to warm LED lights and an looking into a 50 Amp service. It has a Onan Marquis 7000 generator and if we want to run both A/C's at the same time, I need to run the generator. The parts and wiring of the system is not a problem. The supply cord, ATS and power center will be upgraded to 50 amp. specs. Well anyway, that rounds out the reason I joined this forum. I hope to post any interesting mods I do and continue learning from some of the other member here. Thanks-Carl.

Thanks for all the happy thoughts. I'm looking forward to be a contributing member to this great source of information and good will. Today's project is to finish applying the Old English oil on all the wood work. It brings the out grain and leaves a nice satin sheen.
