About to purchase our 1st diesel class A

Hi there! It's been a few years without a MH and we've decided to jump back in. There are 2 coaches that we are looking at and I'd love to hear opinions from more experienced folks. Both are 2005, A CC Magna 630 Rembrandt 45 ft; and the other is a Tiffin Allegro Bus 40DP. The major quandary I'm dealing with is the difference in cost. Both companies and models seem to have really good reputations. I'm leaning towards the Magna for the tag axel and the stronger engine even though the price difference is substantial.

Thoughts? I'm looking forward to having my own rolling home again!

Thanks a bunch,

Mona

Not that it is a major factor but you do know that Country Coach-CC has gone out of business....C

It is my understanding Country Coach was purchased by Winnebago. New units are not being produced at this time but I believe they are being serviced with parts and repair at their facility at Junction City.

Hi Mona! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Not familiar with the two rigs.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Read the info for the 2005 Cummins engines from this very forum. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f123/isl-...ge-180891.html

If the CC had a Caterpillar engine, which some have, is where I would be headed. jmho. In my Beaver I have the Cat C-12 and am very happy with the performance, and dependability.

Not to say Cummins is bad, but the problems with the 2005 to the 2006 production years I would be stay away from them.

Thank you!

Thanks for the input! CC was purchased by Winnebago in 2015 and they will be in production again from what I've read. We've decided to go with the Tiffin more because I like the layout better than any other factor.. Hopefully picking up Tuesday, fingers crossed

from WA State!

I'm kind of partial to CC!

Winnebago has unofficially verified that any new Country Coach's they produce will NOT have the semi monocoque DynoMax chassis. One of the big selling points IMHO.

Congrats on your new MH! We bought our '05 Beaver in 2015, lovin'it! As you will yours too!

A 2005 coach will have a 2004 engine, typically. Our Beaver was made in 2005 and has a Cat made in Dec, 2004 (christmas week!)
Cummins recall was Oct 2005 to April 2006, so I'm guessing these engines would be in 2006-2007 coaches.
