Another New Guy

Hi! Fellow RV’ers

While I was viewing the IRV2 forum, I was being harassed as being a lurker so last week, “I Joined the Club”.… Now that I’ve had time to go through a fraction of the topics, I think its time to give a brief bio of myself… I’m retiring this year so that makes me an old fart….My name is Mike and I’m a licensed carpenter, welder (early years) and now a certified environmental technician (class 4) in water / wastewater operations (29 years).

I’m taking early retire at the end of this year in the attempt to get my sanity back away... For our retirement, my wife (Betty) and I bought a 98 30’ Fleetwood Southwind Storm. This year we will start with small trips and next year to go all out boon docking where ever we can. We live near Prescott, Ontario, Canada by the St. Lawrence River. Across the river is Ogdensburg, New York. I will be asking questions in the near future about places in the U.S., our first stop being Devils Tower. You guys are blessed to have such beautiful sights.

I forgot to mention that we are bikers and we are bringing along for the fun, not a noisy Harleys but a quiet 78 db (Ural) motorcycle with sidecar named Serenity. We still want to hear the birds chirp.
Bye for now..
Mike & Betty

I think you don't realize how many stops there are between your place and Devil's Tower.

You gotta plan on staying in Sturgis SD if you are bikers. From Sturgis you can drive to Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower and a dozen other great sites. Hill City has a great old steam train hauling excursions and there is just phenomenal scenery in every direction.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Congrats on your coach, hope you love your Southwind as we did ours. I've just pulled the pin for the second time and waiting for DW to retire, but that won't stop us from heading South next month. Happy trails.
