Hi All signed on a few days ago, then things got busy. 70 year old novice in the camping world. When the children were small, in the 70's we had a tent trailer which provided a breakaway from everyday life. We then bought a van and rigged that out for travelling, just for catching 40 winks, it worked great. When it was just me and the Mrs. we travelled by car, stayed in motels ect. Then a bombshell landed she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the traveling days seemed to be over. We stayed at home for 9 years, each year getting more difficult for her. One day a great revelation dawned on us, a motor home would allow us to travel. Well we couldn't afford one so we mortgaged the house and got our RV this fall, a Vanguard VXL2000. Too late to go anywhere distant, so I winterized it and I'm in the process of doing some modifications to make life easier for us on the road. Spring time it should be finished and we'll be on the road for sure.
Cheers
Willis

Thank's aerbus and Edmond. The questions will most likely be when we de-winterize and start getting it ready for the season.
I plan on replacing the 2 12 volt coach batteries (marine type) with two Trojan 6 volt deep cell, but for some reason the dealer in Toronto Can. is not answerin my emails. Guess I'll have to phone them. I'll also be replacing all the tires in the spring with Michelins, right now there must be at least 6 different makes on it. I took the single step off it and have a two step for the enterance way ordered so as to make it easier for my wife to enter it.
It's about to get a bit cold here according to the forecast so modifications may be on hold for a bit. Thanks to all for the welcome
Cheers from NS
Willis
