Another Newbee

Hello. New to this site and still trying to figure it all out. We sold our 37 ft sail boat back in 2009 and purchased a Sports Coach 34 ft that was 21 years old. We were not sure we would like camping so that was the vehicle for us to try this out. Well, after one trip we knew we were hooked. Last month we traded in the Sports Coach and purchased a 2003 Winnebago DL 39 ft.

We took her for her maiden voyage last month and enjoyed the whole experience of having more room (two slides and 5 more feet). A few mishaps and learned a few things that needed repair or broke while out. The overhead door awning just busted so we had to remove it before we left the campground. Simple fix as we ordered the new part and today got everything back up. Windshield leak that we were not thrilled with, but again, after much research . . . we think have fixed. Many rains and no leaks but the unit has been stationary since the fix . . . so with our next trip (2 week vacation coming up real quick) we will find out how well the fix is. Other minor things that could and will go wrong with a 10 year old unit. But after owning a unit 20+ years old . . . what can one say. We are thrilled with our new / used RV and looking forward to many trips. Also looking forward to viewing the forum and finding out how you all fix things; what you like best (GPS); camping reviews; RV reviews; and everything else. Good night and thank you for your welcome.

Welcome. Such is the motor home life. Travel and fix what breaks. Less and less breaks as time moves on. Usually.

Welcome and glad to meet you!

Just like owning a house, always something that needs fixing. My grandson just broke (or something) my DW's arm rest on her captains chair. Something more to fix. Oh well, such is life!

Welcome aboard.. Our windshield leak was fixed by passing transport on a windy mountain road. It threw up a rock that smashed the windshield and when the insurance eplaced the glass the leak disappeared.

Enjoy your travels and drive safe.
