Those are some serious numbers! And I thought a 500whp play toy was the cat's meow. It must be hard not turning the tires into liquid lol. Those Cummins can make and take the power... what the stock bottom end's can take is impressive. Although you have to make almost twice as much as some of the cars to keep up, the best part of it all is, at the end of the day, you still have a truck! Even with a house behind it, it's still gonna move!
I guess we can give the Chevy a pass . Is that a 454? Looks really clean. A buddy of mine dropped a LSX 454 crate in a current gen Camaro. It started off with needlessly big 90mm snail that didn't fit under the hood, and was more for show than anything...but he then ditched the cartoonish turbo for something that would actually spool up . She moves now though, and the car still has most of it's heavy bits intact.

It was a 454, but it's currently a 496. It gets on top of that 101 with no issue. We have it limited to 20 psi as the block won't take much more than what's it making now.
We have 2 LS1's sitting here now. They're a dime a dozen at the junk yard ($150) and if you want to turbo one, the more miles they have the better. 200k miles is like candy land for a turbo'd LS motor.
We're dropping the one LS into an '89 Mustang and putting a BW T4 S475 1.10 on it. Beat the crap out of it until the motor lets go and toss in another one. Disposable motors. It's cheaper to find a whole motor than it is to fix one.

496, that's one that doesn't seem to get much attention.
LS1s used to be cheap and plentiful here, but the local yards have grown wise to supply and demand. I have a lot of respect for those engines. We had a Z28 that spent most of its life as a durability test car with a performance company. Even with the goodies they put on it, and the hard miles it likely saw, that thing was still tough.
side note to the site: there needs a section just for car stuff. I realize it's an RV side, and although there's very many car guys, there's definitely a few of us. I kinda get excited when a car guy joins haha. (plenty of great people here, but some couldn't tell you if they have a Ford or GM RV...apparently they never look at their steering wheel. And we love them for it lol),

First outing....
Had to change plans, we're at Wind Creek State Park near Alexander City, AL. The place we were gonna boondock at was way too wet after the 5 days of rain we've had.
Nice place. Got a spot right on the water.

So far, impressed with the park. It's an enormous place, over 600 sites and they're spaced out nicely.
The bath houses seem well kept and clean, showers have good hot water.
Only issue I've seen so far is the sites by the water are only 30 amp and the sewage connections are really tight. I couldn't connect the hose without taking a hammer and a drift and knocking the roll pin out of the cover so I could get the elbow in the hole.

Good to hear your first outing went good.
Looks like a nice campground. You can post a review in campgrounds if you want to let other people know about it.

I tend to take pics of everything. Like you said, it tells a much better story.
We're heading out on Friday for Joe Wheeler State Park near Rogersville, AL. Friends of ours that have RV'd for years said it's one of their favorite parks.

I have a 2012 Ram 3500. I originally bought this truck to replace my Ram 2500 that is now spends more time on the trailer (it's mostly a track truck now) than the street.Any of the HD trucks are more than capable, but it's too heavy for a half ton. It's 10,070 dry and that about maxes out any stripped down, base model, regular cab long bed half ton. But, any of the 2500 / 250's or higher will handle it no problem, even with a (gasps, hacks, coughs) gas motor you'll do "okay".If you get a 2500 / 250 SRW truck, make sure it has either the overload springs or you run airbags just to keep it all level. This trailer doesn't have a huge pin weight, but it's enough that once you load it up, if you don't have the overload springs or bags, you'll be a bit nose high and your headlights will piss folks off at night.I specifically bought this truck to tow my 35' GN car hauler and with the intention of getting a 5th wheel. It's got the Max Tow package, 4.10 gears, dual trans coolers, etc. I also put in the airbags with wireless air system and a B&W gooseneck hitch and Companion 5th Wheel hitch. From the factory it's rate to tow 19,000+ lbs, so at this trailers GVWR of 12,500, it's not even making a dent in this thing.
