Aspiring full time RVer looking for tips

Hello, I am looking into living in a motor home full time. I would love some suggestions on what type of home to pick! I am looking for something small, used, and not above $12,000. And the older the better! (As long as it runs of course). Is there a particular style or brand that would be best?
Iím also very concerned about mobile internet, and would love some tips on that. I hope to get an online job that would allow me to travel, but the thing is it requires VERY good internet, so I was wondering what sort of mobile options there are for WiFi, which ones are best, how much they cost, etc. Thanks in advance!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

As for the internet service, you need to go over to the technology area of the forum and ask specific questions there.

On the RV to buy, I would suggest that you go to RVTrader.com where you can search for rigs based on price, etc. That will give you a good idea of what's out there!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

You didn't post in the wrong area but you will find more where you were directed.

Welcome to the Forum! This is a great place to learn and good job on finding out before purchasing.

Go to PPL Motorhomes out of Texas website. They are a consignment dealership and post floor plans to get you noticing what you like or not. They also post prices and you can get an idea of what you want.

What type of vehicle do you have presently? Can you tow a travel trailer (TT) or do you need a motorhome that drives and can tow your car? Good place to start.

Your budget is limited but not undoable. The biggest thing with older rigs is to take your time and find one that has been well taken care of. Tires often need replaced so put that at the top of your list. They often age out before the mile out. You can also get away some times with replacing the front steer tires and then the others later.

We use our Verizon Hot Spot for our internet but most campgrounds have some sort of internet service. Price will depend on how many GB's you will need.

Look into camp hosting. Means you do some work for the CG (campground) in exchange for some kind of work at the CG. When traveling you can cut your cost by staying at Walmart overnight (if they allow overnight parking there). RVParky.com will allow you to see that. Cabella's is another place that allows you to stay free if they have it.

BLM has free overnight stays also. No hook ups but you can do that with a RV for a while.

Keep coming back and read everything you can. YouTube also has a lot of videos on anything RV. Start watching. The more you expose yourself the better your knowledge will be when it comes time to purchase your rig.

Good luck, Lynne

Keep in mind..
Your 1st coach is a learning tool..
BUY USED! & buy one with everything you "think" you want and will need..
As You will make mistakes and have booboo's We all have.....(sometimes more than twice..)
Within a year or two you will discover..about the RV

What you love about the RV...
What you can kinda-sorta tolerate with the RV..
And what you absolutely hate about that !@#$%^%$#@! RV.
Then you can go get what you should have gotten in the first place..
Happy Hunting
