Bama has a new MH user!

Hi from people that have seen the light and converted from boats to a motor home We're on the Alabama Gulf Coast and just bought a 2006 Mandolay Valencia 36 with less than 10,000 miles on her...so like new.

Two trips under our belts totaling 1700 miles and we're sorting things out on a very short list of to-do items. MPG surprised us, being a bit more than 9 at 62MPH. Steering was vague so alignment was done, and it's a bit better but not comfortable in Atlanta rush-hour traffic

Anyway, lots of systems are similar between boats and MHs, so hope to contribute after awhile. Glad to be part of this forum

lol, depends on whether my meager efforts are successful. The two I'll report on are a commode that leaks fresh water when flushing. It gave me the opportunity to take the whole thing apart, clean it thoroughly, and then I'll put it back together using a bit of stay-soft sealant...and see what happens.

The other DIY fix will be replacing the pump motor that operates the jacks and slides. Equalizer supplies a great deal of diagnosis and R&M information, so we'll see how that goes, too.

If I run into trouble (very common, and very possible at least I'll know where to go for help

Hey Bruce, looks like a nice set of mods you've done to your coach; even though I'm not sure what they all do.

Is there a link to what you've done (and why)? If not, would you care to talk about the two or three mods that you think were the most effective; both from a mechanical and a cost standpoint?

At the moment, tighter steering is my focus.

Howdy from SC and welcome to the forums. Atlanta traffic is bad no doubt, but it doesn't hold a candle to driving in and around NYC in an RV. The roads are terrible, the traffic is terrible, the signs confusing at times, and to think I called that home for well over 50 years!
