Retiree couple considering selling home and buying RV to see the country. Have never had an RV or even camper. Would appreciate guidance.

Welcome. Lots of good folks and info here. [moderator edit]
As to a new coach floorplan and budget are the two most important things to nail down first.

Before you "sell it all" rent a RV for a couple of short trips to see if you even enjoy it. I am betting you will.

Good luck.

We agree, don’t sell it all until you’ve spent at minimum a year on the road. Welcome!

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good info to share. I also agree rent a rig for a trip (a couple of times) to see if it may work for you. Then a few extended trips before you sell it all.

Enjoy the adventure.

Hi Mimi1958,
RVing is a great life style. Consider deciding a few things:
1. How do you want to travel and live? Motor Coach, 5th wheel or trailer?
2. How much can you afford to spend?
2a. RV
2b. Travel
2c. Base Camp (longer time at a single place). You are not going to tour all the time.
2d. This is in addition to the expenses for living.

Go slow. You have time to see what you want to see.

Consider attending some of the large RV shows. An example is The Tampa RV Super Show every January. Go to https://www.frvta.org/show/florida-rv-supershow/ for more information. No matter where you are everyone needs a reason to come to Florida in January. You can Google "RV shows" to see what is available. Going to shows will help you decide some of the items mentioned above.

Good luck. You are about to make many happy memories.

Go to the Tampa RV Supershow and look around. They have everything from pop ups to million dollar plus Class A. You can rent a hotel room and go to the show a couple days.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Lots of things to consider such as budget, which class will fit your needs, etc. I would suggest you post specific questions in the appropriate areas of the forum for best results. Not many folks hang out here in the Welcome area.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
