bunkhouse or rear living for fulltime with kids

Hi all, I have a traveling job and will be buying a 5th wheel in june to start living in along with my wife, 6 year old and 8 year old. we will be doing this for a couple years as my wife homeschools our children. our problem is we cant decide between a bunkhouse so the kids have their seperate space or a rear living room model for the openess and more home like feel. I have a 3/4 ton truck rated up to 14000 lbs so its looking like 34 ft is about our max size 5th wheel. I have looked at so many in the last 6 months and cant decide.Any advice would be very appreciated. Also any suggestions on different makes and models. Thank you so much

Welcome and glad to meet you!

Sorry, can't help with 5er, but enjoy whatever you decide on.

KingW2001,

I think the kids would like the bunk model- we have one (although it's a mh and not a 5th wheel). When they aren't with us- the area is great storage. In ours they also have separate dvd players too...the kids like to have their own 'space"

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad to have you join the gang!

Hope you find the right 5er for your needs. It would be great to have bunk beds for the kids right now. They need their space and you need yours! You might want to get one to use until they are grown up, then go the the rear LR that you really want. BTW, you are not limited to 34'. We have a 2002 Cedar Creek 36RLTS that only weighs in at 13,000 lbs loaded the way we travel! We pulled it with a Ford F250 for 10 years with no problems. We finally went to a MH last year and are now trying to sell the 5er, but we really loved it!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
