While I can under stand the older unit may be rated less then the new. Those specs are lower then what the factory rating of my motor are 300hp 820tq.

I will do some more digging on the transmission.

I found that spec you posted on another forum.

Turing up the power is so easy it makes me worry that I could go past the 400hp 1200tq to easy. Wish this thing would fit on my dyno

Hum been pulled over twice in my turck and told by staters that if there is ever 3 lanes and my trailer is rated 10k or more I cant be in the 3rd lane.

It was on I-5 between seattle and Vancovuer, but the cop sure did not make it seem like it was only in certan areas.

Your right I am typing the worng # its md3060.

Here are the ratings for the 3060:

So good luck uprating your engine!

Here's a link to the Allison documents, be sure you're looking at the MD3060 and not the MD3066. The .pdf shows the same as above. No such thing as a 3060 HD, there is a MD3066 but it would be unusual to have it. If you do have the 3066 then, yes, it can take 360 HP and 1200 ft lbs. But you keep saying it's a 3060 so that's what I'm going by.

Talked with my firend who rebuilds these quite alot. He feels that there is not much change in these transmission from 1995 till now. I will be going in there Friday to have them down load the trans tune. They said there is afew different shift options. Hopping I can get the mode to be more of tow hall like in my Duramanx instead of the super early shfit ecno mode.

Sounds like if I do over power it it will go into limp on me 1st so if its like my Duramanx I just reset the trans and dont use all the power like I was.

Have towed around 33k comined on my Durmax with the Allison running on the level 2 tune which is 320whp and 700tq. So I pray the the 3000 sears can handle a little more. I know on my Duramax I ran on a level 3 tune and limed the trans a few times. Set the tune down to level 2 and have not limed it in 70k and she has 179k on it now.

Will try to make a post about my mods and results.

The law covering the lane usage is hard to find, I'll try and look it up and post it.

Here it is http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.61.100

Looks like it was changed in 2010 and I missed it. Wonder why the signs are still up though. However it also says the DOT may change or exempt sections to facilitate traffic movement. So it's possible that that's what the signs do and the State Patrol doesn't realize it. I used to work for the DOT but retired in '98, maybe they have an answer.

Here's a little more on signing: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=47.36.260
