First trip.....
We are going on our first trip this weekend. Have the choices narrowed down to two places. I'm finding it hard to chose, one is thirty minute's from my house and the other is an hour and forty five minutes away. I'm leaning toward the short trip, but I like the second one's web site better. What to do......

New to the Class A world after having three 5th wheels and one bumper pull Coachman Travel Trailer. Wow, our last 5th wheel was nice, but it's really difficult to
call this "camping" anymore!
Recently purchased an slightly used 2011 Winnebago Tour 40CD from Camping World
in Houston, TX. Trying to learn all the new systems. What a complex vehicle! Oh well, looking forward to all the new challenges ahead.

My two cents...
Stay close to home for our first trip in any new to you rig. But, that's just me. Whatever you do, have a great time!

Camping is in a tent with a sleeping bag and bug spray, not to mention a small gas stove and a gas lantern. Oh yea water and ice. Plenty of ice. Been there and done that as many on this forum started out that way. As we get older we need more creature comforts. Thats why I have graduated to a class A. Welcome to the forum. Glad you joined us.

Times ten!
You're a lucky fella, O.P., and you're going to have a ton of fun...but like all things mechanical RV's have things that will/can go wrong.
Staying close to home for the shakedown is an excellent policy unless one has both a spare bugout vehicle and a credit card with no limit!

I've got more than a few screws loose, and never let it ruin my good time, either!
Glad to hear you had fun, and for perspective on the things that need fixing:
I've read much worse reports from folks just back from a maiden voyage with a brand new unit!

Welcome, long trip or short trip, just be sure you know where the nearest Wal-Mart is. Your sure to need something!
This is how we did our first trip. Post your intentions in the new member section an invite other newbies to join you! We had 7 coaches from 5 states show up for what we called a Minnie rally and had a great time. Before our rally, none of us had ever meet before.
