Coachmen Mirada 2004
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum so I am not sure on all the in's & out's of posting.
I just bought our first RV which is a Class A 2004 Coachmen Mirada 29KS. We have used it about 6 times so far finally got all the kinks out of it. We got a great deal on it I paid $25k out the door. Does anyone know anything this model? It had 17k miles on it, I had to put a new power converter, roof AC, and new Awning cover.
Looking forward to learning alot from this forum.
Tony P.

Hi Tony!
Congratulations on the new rig! Sounds like you got a great deal! If look around a little, you'll find the "Manufacturers", "Chassis" and the "RV Systems & Tech" forums very helpful depending on our issues. You can also do some detailed searches and find others who've had and fixed similar problems. Remember to let folks know what you find and fix, that's how most of us learn.
Congratulations again and safe travels!

Tony, I too am a Coachmen owner. Bought my RV in late July this year (my first RV). It had 19k mi when I bought it.............we've put on 2000 since. No bad problems so far. It had a lot of rattles which I have mostly fixed. Mine has spent its life in Iowa.........underneath looks really good.
My biggest regret is that I failed to disengage the parking brake for about 10miles.......it smoked/smelled a bit but it still works OK. The dim red lite didn't show well in the noontime sunlight.
I've added a front trac bar which helps in a big crosswind. I'll also add a steering stabilizer, as I'm concerned about potential "death wobble" in the front axle system.
I got 7.5 to 9mpg depending on wind direction for trips so far.
The only thing that does not seem to work is the 2 radio speakers at the md-coach ceiling.

Welcome!! Congrats on the purchase, I hope it treats you well.
I know Coachmen well....I had a Mirada. First thing you'll want to do is remove any dry/cracked or loose caulking and re-seal (with RV caulking) every single joint, seam and crack on that thing... from the roof, downward. Around the lights, windows, doors, moldings, and inspect all screw holes too! Be like Sherlock Holmes when it comes to finding areas where water might sneak in. Dont be shy with the stuff. If you're afraid of making a mess, use masking tape to insure clean lines.
TRUST ME! They're great units, but if even the slightest bit of water gets in the walls, they delaminate. That's just how those Coachmens are...they're like a sponge. That will take you a few days, but it's time well spent.
Do that, and you'll be all set to have TONS of worry free fun!!

Tony P.:
G'morning and a BIG WELCOME to the iRV2 gang.
Funny thing,.....Just late yesterday, a Coachmen Mirada close to your description pulled in to the site adjacent to us. Nice looking rig.
Anyway, again, WELCOME.
