Dave Foghorn
I say, I say, myself and the little lady are most recently from the Seattle area. We're done hunting and pecking out a living. We managed to recently sell our 2700 sq ft home, and for the last 8 months we've been couped, I say, couped up in the back of our 2011 Pleasure Way Plateau TS checking out the sights and sounds of the South West. Now, I ain't complaining, but the little lady's beginning to get like Paul Revere's ride... a little light in the belfry if you catch my meaning. To alleviate this hen-house-sized-feeling we just placed an order for a 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman to be turned into a toad. That way we don't have to fiddle with the rubix cube. You know the syndrome, you have to move 15 other items around to get to the one we want to move. Phew! I was beginning to feel busier than a centipede at a toe-counting contest. Anyway, we're currently looking for a sunny, tax-friendly, I say, tax-friendly place to drop anchor. Meanwhile, if you know of one in the South West that's got trees, not too much heat in the summer, not TOO busy, and yet has the medical facilities... would you drop us a line ? So far, we've been doing a lot of chopping and I'm not seeing any chips flying.

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum!
We chose Texas as our tax friendly domicile and I'm sure that there are parts of the state which meet your criteria. Are you looking for a "domicile state" while you travel full time or someplace to buy another stick house?
Best of luck.
Rick

We want to build, Rick. And, while there isn't a REAL urgency, we do have stuff in storage, the cost of which could be going towards a mortgage. I have octagenarian Parents in Las Vegas, and we've somewhat made that our domicile over the last few months, although not officially, yet. What parts of Texas were you thinking about?

We're not as familiar with Texas as I'd like Dave but have spent time in the Hill Country around Kerville. Very nice but a long way from LV.
Best of luck.

Hi Dave, can't help you with that part of the country, but I can say "welcome to the forum".
