Newbie to this site here... thinking of getting a Vectra and have two chices, a 2007 and a 2008. I believe the 2008 has the new Maxxum chassis. Any other major differences I should consider? Is it worth paying a premium of say 10% to get a new 2008 vs. and one year old (but still new) 2007?

John, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am not up on the actual differences of this coach's production years. One thing to keep in mind is what the model year will have on it's value in just a few months. If the saving outway this then it may be a non-issue, otherwise you would want the dealer to reduce the price of the 07 even further. I am sure there will be Winnebago owners coming forth to help out in the other areas very shortly. Good luck and enjoy the hunt.

 Welcome John to the IRV2 website, if the Maxxum is a upgrade chassis you may want to consider the 2008.
Have you driven both chassis to get some kind of gut feeling on which is better ?

That would be a tough choice....the improved storage of the new Maxxum chassis is tempting. However, I'd prefer the side radiator configuration of the 2007 coach. I wouldn't worry too much about the difference in valuation unless you think you will be trading in a few years. If I could make a good deal on the 2007, I would not hesitate.

I saw the new Maxuum chassis at the Taco Dome RV show and was pretty impressed. A lot more storage and almost twice the grey water storage. Front axle is rated about 2k less though. Don't know why.

Two reasons to buy the '07 vs. the '08:
1) Winnie is offering a $6K rebate, check here and on their website. Good thru Nov 10th.
2) Part of that 10% price increase ($20K) is the new diesel engines with the particulate filter/regeneration system in them. They add about $10-15K to the price of a new coach, and who knows about maintenance on them? Not too many out there yet.
So it sounds you could get quite a discount on the '07 vs the upgrades of the '08. Decisions, decisions....

That rebate offer reads as if it is only good on Itasca's rigs, not Winnebago's.

I to would opt for the 07, I am not comfortable with the new smog motors yet. All that money you will save buys a lot of diesel fuel ya know
