John and Bev from Ont Canada new to the RV scene and have just bought
a motorhome that requires me to get my airbrake endorsement and they want me to upgrade my licence. I have heard that some RV owners drive with out the upgrade but get there airbrake. I'm willing to get the upgrade to a D but how true is my statement?

Welcome to the forum! DW and I both had to get the air brake endorsement for our Alberta licences, but here we did not have to change our licence class. I would strongly suggest you get the air brake training and upgrade you licence. You need to know how to manage the air brake system. Although some people may say you don't need to upgrade, check with your insurer.

Thanks for the info I have just completed my air brake endorsement and am writing for my D license this week then the driving test in a couple of weeks. When I got my truck mechanics license back in the 70s they asked if I would like to get my truck driving license grand fathered in didn't do it now I have to. The d is required in Ont.
This new reg came in in the last year. We do not have our unit yet get it on the 26th of this month Bev and I are real excited about this. Thanks again.
John and Bev
