Eager to learn & discover
Just learning the routine on weekend visits to state parks in Florida - great fun.
Question: Towing 4 wheels down. Does it make sense to acquire a manual shift VW - to use the $100 VW towbar for highway use?
Thx in advance for your insight & response.

A belated ; Welcome to iRV2.
Manual transmission , over an automatic that requires a fluid pump ( Approx $1,300 installed ) is a definite savings when it come to setting up a toad.
Are you sure you have the price right on that tow bar ??
Most run 5x that.
A web site to keep in mind. for info on four down towing.

Harbor Freight sells an "A" frame tow bar for about $100. Hard to hook up since it's rigid so you have to be aligned just right. Usually takes two people to do.
I'd look for a better on on Craigs list or the local nickel ads.
