Excited to learn

I recently retired and purchased a 2006 Winnebago Adventurer. My wife and I are in the seventh week of this adventure. We have learned a lot from other campers and fulltimers so far on this journey.

We began on Christmas day with only one reservation looking for a warmer climate than our home in CT. We were in for a rude awakening and were shocked at the difficulty making and planning the next jumps forward in our journey.

Luckily my wife is a quick and detaile oriented person. As of right now we have reservations taking us to the end of March traveling through the southern states. Luckily we both love moving from one location to the next. Two weeks seems to be the longest we stay anywhere. This may change a little next year with slightly longer stays in our favorite locations.

We have survived a couple of problems luckily I am relatively handy and able to figure out with the help of other friendly adventurers. We have also made several friends along the way. Campers are mostly very friendly and outgoing people.

We still have much to learn as our adventure continues and are excited about this new resource we have found. I will finish with a saying I learned from my favorite writer Louis LaLamour YOL BOLSON which means May there be a road.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the new rig and lifestyle change.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good info to share. Read the various forums here and ask questions as they come up or add info if you can.

The learning curve is very long but thankfully only steep in the beginning.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

Truly, you have come to the right forum, with lots of well-informed RV'ers. My first suggest being new to your RV, is the top MENU shows "RV FORUM and FORUM OWNERS" find your RV and learn more details forum others with your same RV in OWNERS Forum, Next for knowing your Class RV A, B, or C you can ask and learn.

I'm am wondering if you did receive a walk-through of your RV, did you video TAPE the tour? The review before performing can be helpful for the future task you perform.

It sounds like your Adventures have already stared. YES, we also like yourselves enjoy being on the road and driving to our beloved college games. Make notes of your daily time on the roadways as this will come in handy on long road trips. First, let me say we enjoy being off the freeways as much as possible find cool out of the way places, We have learned that we average about 500-miles in a day. Giving us time to check-in setup and morning hook-ups with the tow.

Just take it slow and try not to rush, don't pull into any place you can not see your way back out. Don't back-up with a tow vehicle hook-up.

Were all here to help in any way we can so fill at home and learn all the different ways to RV Camp.
