experienced Rv'ers from NZ arrive in US

Hello all
My wife and our lovable labrador have been full time Rv'ing in New Zealand.
over a number of years, the Wife Kelly is American from MO and im a Kiwi.

After 8 years of talking about it, we arrive in LA this week where we have an RV waiting, an 89 Bounder 34 we bought through Ebay.
I know it runs and drives nice and most of it works, but we also know it needs some serious cleaning and some TLC.
Im a mechanic/auto electrical tech and have built motor homes for other and well as ourselves.

The fun for us begins when we have no idea where to go for what other than lot of online research.

Can anyone advise of a place near Orange CA where we could go and park over cheap while we clean her up and give everything the once over.
Somewhere quiet but handy to a few shops or a hardware store.

We are used to Boondocking as in NZ we do this 90% of the time on the road.
Somewhere to Boondock with other RV folks near Orange would be great.
Once the RV is sorted we will be heading off and working our way across to St Louis MO
We look forward to meeting lots of other RV people and to your replies.
Regards
Rusty & Kell

Welcome stateside and to the group. Sounds like you'll have a great adventure. Hopefully all is what you expect to find in your Bounder and it turns out to need little. Safe trouble free travels.

Rusty, welcome to the US. For boondocking, check the Escapees RV club Escapees RV Club I'm not a member, but I have heard that they have a good camping guide for members that includes remote sites. New membership is $70.

Rusty & Kell:

Hi from the Black Hills of South Dakota and WELCOME !!

We (wife Lynette and I) have been on the road full time since 05 bouncing around the U.S., Canada, and up to Alaska and back, but we haven't been in the Orange, CA area so can't help ya find a good location there for tuning up your Bounder. Sure hope one of our iRV2 members can provide some help.

Anyway, glad to have ya back stateside.

Steve & Lynette

Hi Rusty & Kell, welcome to the forum. Welcome back to the States. Don't know much about California, 'cept maybe their all nuts there. Come on east, at least as far as Lake Tahoe, it's beautiful there, even on the California side.
