Welcome to iRV2
What trip planner are you using? The one you have may not allow for that.

I have found that if I right-click to add a stop at a ferry departure location, and then right-click to add a stop at the ferry arrival location, I can "induce" a ferry crossing if there is one there. However, if RVTW knows that a ferry crossing is a continuation of a major route, it will connect the dots across the water. See the attached for a ferry crossing from Vancouver Is. and then back for a trip we had planned for late this summer. RVTW did this on its own (I believe) because you will note that I did not add stops at the ferry departure/arrival points. It's so long ago, now, that I did this plan that I don't recall the specifics of how this ferry crossing was inserted in the trip plan. I did note when doing this plan, however, that not all ferry routes were necessarily recognized by RVTW, meaning apparently that it's database does not have every possible one. But I presume is does have a large number of them. So give it a try.

I would think that any trip planner will allow vehicular ferries if the route demands it. If anything you would need to select an 'avoid ferries' feature in preferences if available.
What is wrong with ferries? There are only a few places where they are unavoidable, such as crossing the Yukon at Dawson City.

I didn't mean to imply ferry crossings are an issue. Just that for some you need to specifically identify the ferry's start/stop locations with stops, whereas on the example in the attachment, RVTW identified the ferry crossing as a function of setting the Point A to B route.
