Congratulation on your new lifestyle. We are starting year three after selling the house and 90% of our belongings to full time. It's been wonderful.

At first it was hard for me to get rid of stuff because I'd spent a lifetime gathering things and building a shop. and getting rid of those things had me feeling like decades of work were going to be lost. Like that part of my life was ending. Then I had an epiphany, and realized my original dream wasn't ending, a new one was beginning. That really helped.

Been thinking of the FT. trying get wife onboard. But from time i do come up with thoughts on how going to get this/that done. Such as Laundry, 5'er doesn't have a washer/dryer. Added ins cost. Then there's the thought of something goes wrong, have to bring the "Home" to the shop", sort of reminds me of a possible red neck commercial.
But i love camping, even spent few nights in 5er in my back yrd. just to sleep in it.

If it's any consolation my heart goes out to you Hubby and I were chomping at the bit 20 years ago about the prospect of Full Time RVing. Then about 8 years ago as it was getting a closer prospect of dong so, I started to get major reservations of being without a SnB base home. This was reinforced when COVID shutdowns happened here and many snowbirds were stuck in the Frigid weathers of Vancouver (about the warmest place in Canada). Rest areas in the region were slammed with long term RVs/trailers parked up with no place to go.

Moving into June 2022, made the decision that next year the house goes on the market as daughter aged 31 spending more nights at boyfriend's house than the acreage and getting too much to maintain for dad and I. Been on a frantic sell off with FB Marketplace, Kijiji (like Craigslist) selling individual item stuff, and have gone through every room, storage area, drawers, closets and cupboards to start 3 back to back weekend garage/yard sales. First one out here in our acreage community and the other two inside Calgary city limits for hopefully more traffic being denser populations. The last ones will be more of a challenge having to transport everything but ....... We're keeping everything we might need to stage the house or even continue living here just in case. Once the place is sold hopefully early next year, we'll do another round of Garage Sales and then anything else will be donated.

We decided finally worse scenario is if we only do it for a year or 10 years, we can still always buy some land and our daughter/maybe by then son-in-law can build and give us a Mother In Law suite or small second property somewhere. LOL. Or ..... we can just buy a small place closer to her and settle down.

Anyway, all I'll say is don't give up on your dream. Thoughts and things change as life marches on with all of us. I used to be fanatical about always needing to own real estate but now I ideally feel I don't want to ever own property again = leave it to the younger generations and if we need to we can support/contribute to them building their future if needed. End of the day they'll get what's left when we draw our last breath

Don't get me wrong emotions ran high on getting rid of items I'd carried with me for almost 4 decades that belonged to my parents = that's now passed since I've been selling things. I'm sure emotions will run high when the house goes on the market and when that offer comes in and again when we shut the front door for the last time = Dad and I built this place from the ground up ourselves 20+ years ago and it holds a lot of memories. However, there's no way we can manage it for many more years with our ailments so might as well go FT Rving for a few years and play the rest by ear.

We have had 3 decades almost of creating wonderful RVing memories and now we are looking forward to doing many places again on a much slower schedule. Don't give up on your dreams.
