Hello, DH and I have been reading and learning from these forums for years. Finally decided to become official as we are getting closer and closer to our planned RV life and I know I'll have lots of questions.
We are one year out from my retirement, after which I plan to spend the next year getting us down-sized and the house ready to sell. DH retires one year after me and at that time we want to get the house sold and start our new life as full-timers.
We've rented motorhomes several times for vacations over the last 3 years or so and have been reading about and researching the full-time lifestyle for just about as long. My assignment is to take care of the lifestyle research (residency requirements, insurance, medical/dental care, budgets, keeping in touch with family/friends, etc) while DH's assignment is to learn all about the RV and it's inner workings and systems (or, as I call it, the boring stuff
). For some odd reason he gets all excited reading about batteries, energy sources, lighting, heating, generators and such.
I thank you all for providing such great advice and insight and look forward to picking your brains a bit more.
