First RV ever 76 Forester
Hi all! I’m heading to Montana tomorrow to DRIVE my new vintage RV back to Indiana. I’ve never owned any type of RV and know very little about them. I saw this one and liked the vintage look.
Any major things I should know or check before driving this 40 year old beauty half way across the country?

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.
I would check the age on the tires. If they are more than 9 yrs old get them replaced especially if there is any cracking in the sidewalls.
Have a safe trip.
Happy Trails!!!

Wow that looks like its in great condition, it reminds me of the 1978 Dodge Midas I had, looks like the same floor plan, couch in the back drops down to make a nice bed.
I remember the maps embedded on the table.
I had the Dodge 360 in mine, I would tow my CJ7 behind it with no problem.
Kinda wish I still had that RV, I was not afraid to take it down the forest service roads either.
Need more pictures please
Have a fun a safe trip, and check those tires

We made it HOME!!
Two buddies and I picked the RV up Saturday in Billings Montana and drove it straight home to Indiana, 1600+ miles without any issues! We kept it around 55mph the entire way and other than one extremely freezing cold night at a rest stop (3 guys didn’t think to bring a single blanket) it was the best road trip of or lives! I can’t wait to get this baby back out and start camping with my little one this coming season.
Thank you for all the advise I’m sure I’m going to need plenty more over the next season or two!
We’ll be releasing a short film of our journey on our Facebook page: NightHawk Productions check us out for updates on its release!

Glad you had a trouble free trip! I'm a Mopar guy and the 360 is a good solid running engine. Use quality motor oil, (mobile 1, Castrol synthetic) & a Wix/napa gold oil filter. And she should run trouble free for along time.
