Our previous rig was a 30 ft motorhome. We did not tow a car. We found 30' gave us plenty of room and still fit easily into shopping area parking lots etc. Anything shorter and you will be buying a new rig earlier than is economically wise.

30 foot minimum!!! wow, anything over 26 feet seem to be too big when we walk onto the lot, until we go inside and then we see that the size is necessary to get the bed and other features one would like.
there is only the two of us and we wanted to be free of a toad to start. interesting that you felt fine in and out of the parking lots at 30ft. we are moving up from a tent and ford club wagon so we are still really struggling with the size.
right now our first choice is a Coachman Concord 235 so with the Coachman Freelander second at23 ft. Freelander has more room but the Concord has a diesel and feels easier to handle.
one thing we would love to do is find a way to carry our kyacks with us . Any idears we have looked long and hard for some type of roof rack but do not find any

My 2 cents worth. We have a new (2007) Winnie 26P Class A that we are extremely happy with. For 2 people (with an occasional third) we have plenty of room, 2 slideouts, a door to close between us when we need to, 2 TVs, and a motorhome small enough to be able to go into any state or federal park.

With the 8.1 liter Vortec engine and Workhorse chassis it has enough power to go over any hill, and even tow our Jeep Wrangler.

We have done several small trips since we have bought it (about 2 months ago) and are about to go on a 8K mile, 19 state trip. We will give a report on how it goes as we travel along.

Yes, big is good when you need it, but sometimes small is good too.
