My husband and I recently purchased a 2006 Monaco Executive Matterhorn. We love the coach, but seem to be constantly having issues crop up. I have read a lot of positive posts on here about Monaco coaches, so hope this is just a fluke.

We have used the coach mostly to tailgate at LSU games the last few months, but look forward to having some great adventures in the future.

Your 10 year old coach and its accessories might be showing fatigue because of poor or lack of proper maintenance by previous owners. Do you have any maintenance records? Do you have manuals for all of its components? Use this forum to ask specific questions about things that you are unsure about or having problems with. Someone will usually point you in the right direction. Are your problems chassis or coach related?

Your problems are that you are going to the LSU games. If you were to go to the UGA games, all your troubles will disappear. You have a high end coach and it just does not like associating with such riff raff.

BadLands Bob- LOL. Thanks. What's the problem now, no LSU in sight on this trip and the coach broke down.

I just bought a 2002 Safari Trek built by Monaco a bit over a month ago, and even though it was seeming in great shape for its age with MANY updates and upgrades done in the last couple of years, I spend most of the first month working on odds and ends and I am not done yet. In a way it was just showing its age, and it seems many of these things that I thought were 5 minute fixes have turned into multiple hour fixes. Let me give one example when I bought it many of the marker lights were not working, so I decided to upgrade all of them to LED's which I ordered from Amazon. I think I had 5 or 6 that were not working to start with. So I start replacing bulbs just to find not only were the bulbs burned out / missing / broken, but the sockets were severely corroded which surprised me given the general lack of corrosion on the under body. On one I found the entire bulb and socket were missing and only a pair of wires with splices were dangling. So this added all new sockets to the project. I get the sockets all installed and the mid side lights on both sides still don't work. So I trace wires back, undo electrical tape and discover that Monaco / Safari used the cheap squeeze style wire splices to insert the side marker wiring to the long tail light wiring instead of connecting to the supplied proprietary harness plug. (hey who is ever going to know it is under the middle of the chassis wrapped up in electrical tape, and they can shave $2 off a $110,000+ motorhome) Needless to say the squeeze splices are gone now and a proper splice has been made.

Welcome to another 49er fan...been a little hard watching them this year though. But will remain a fan. Are you from CA or just like the niners? We're just a couple hours east away from Levi Stadium. Sorry you're having issues with your rig. Happy travels.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

I would suggest that you have a good certified RV tech go over he entire coach. Monaco builds very nice Class A's and you should try to identify why you are having so many problems.

Happy Trails!!!
