First Time RVer

Hello Everyone! I'm a first time RV rookie. I bought a 2007 Monaco Diplomat 40SQK 400Hp Cummins. I live in Southern Cal and flew to Florida to pick it up. Because of COVID I drove it back solo. What an adventure! I'd do it again if I had to. The Monaco purred like a kitten! Talk about "climb every mountain"! Plenty of go power. I still have a lot learn. I sure hope you vets and full timers can school this rookie!

Welcome! Nice unit! There are plenty of people with lifetimes of experience here. I have a 21' travel trailer and Tahoe tow vehicle, have had class C and tent trailers in my time, but never a class A... maybe some fine day.

Welcome to the forum! Enjoy the new rig! Nothing like a long drive to get you used to a class A!

My first encounter with a motorhome was back in 2000 when I rented a class C for a week and took my kids camping at June Lake in Mammoth California. We loved it, but with a single income and 5 kids between 7 and 19, we knew it would be a while before we could dream of buying one. On the way up to Mammoth I was climbing a grade when I got smoked by a class A towing a jJeep Grand Cherokee. I never caught up to him..
I loved the class C I was in, but the torque that that diesel pusher had.. I knew then, for my future travels it would be a diesel pusher. It's a little bigger (40ft vs the 36 or 38ft) than I originally planned. But the condition was only beat by the price ($65k) with the motorcycle lift included, so I couldn't pass on it. I don't ride anymore so I don't need the lift.

The tires are 2017 Michelins with about 70-80% tread left.
