First timer in Oregon; starting kinda big

Hello all. Am in the process of purchasing first motorhome. Was going to start with an "inexpensive" and "experienced" class A gas outfit. Then went all gaga over a 1994 Pace Arrow Turbodiesel 36 on an Oshkosh chassis with 8.3 Cummins / 6 speed Allison so I guess I'm not really going to start in an entry level machine at all, huh? Will no doubt need some coaching from you all.

I live in Willamette Valley of Oregon with wife Donna. Have one kid all grown up who is tremendously excited with the new RV, and a teen still at home who groans and thinks Dad has really gone over the edge this time.

My extended family has farm land in Idaho, and I've spent many summers herding around a 1964 Autocar with 24' grain box, 8v-71 Detroit power, and 10 x 4 transmission. So, I think I can learn to drive the Pace Arrow! It should be pretty civilized compared to that beast. But, may need some pointers there too. I'm looking forward to the support that this forum offers!

Hi & welcome to you! We're big Oregon fans (spent the last 2 summers there) and also started "big" right out of the gate...40-foot monster DP. It's a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll be comfortable in no time.

Hi Kirk! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad to have you join the bunch here! Yep, you didn't take the usual "baby steps" but that's OK, you'll do fine with it! Good luck & God bless!
