Forced into it

Will spare the details. Grateful for the community here and the shared knowledge/experiences from everyone.

2022 Keystone Outback 328RL. I am convinced it is a lemon but, then again, aren't they all.

I am quickly learning that my expectations of these things is WAY too high. Fixing problems at every turn it seems. Currently installing skirting to help with heating costs.

Welcome to iRV2. I'm pretty sure that somewhere on my sales contract for my RV that "become a mechanic and handyman" was a line item.

Good luck and safe travels when you're able to move.

ps - if you're living in this unit in winter, skirting will help a lot, and you may need a source of heat under the unit in the area where your fresh and waste water holding tanks are located. Winter living in an RV presents a unique set of challenges.

Amen to that. I think if it were warmer and discovered all the issues, I wouldn't be so irritated and frustrated. Nonetheless I will continue on.

Welcome to the forum! I too have a Keystone product in the Cougar 5th wheel line. For me, its not so much that there are issues as they all seem to have, its the lack of quality control and concern for your issues at the dealer.

Where I bought mine RV I think they forgot what I bought an hour after I left the dealer and the warranties are just miserable, including the extended warranty which makes you jump through hoops to get anything fixed.

You don't have a lemon, you have a typical build that requires you to be a "handyman and mechanic" as SoloRVGuy already stated.

All is not lost though, after getting past all of the bugs and fixing seemingly small issues, the Keystone line is pretty reliable and do hold up. Mine is 9 years old now and doing fine. Yes, constant maintenance, replacing slide rubber seals, etc. but all in all, I am happy with my purchase.

Good Luck and Safe Travels!

thanks all. i do like the trailer. the thing I'm most disappointed in is my experience with the thieves (Camping World) who sold me the unit. I'm partly to blame as well because of my own ignorance about this world. Lesson learned. Moving on.
You folks are a wealth of information. Hopefully I can add to it.

Your finding out that the RV world is very shady. The best made RV's are just adequate at best.
Owning an RV is a challenge it is certainly not a turn key set it and forget experience.
Living / using an RV in the winter in below freezing temps increase the challenges of having an RV.
Your still in the learning curve period. You are correct you need to adjust your expectations. Adjusting your expectations will leaving you feeling as though you been taken advantage of and bamboozled. But don't give up as you gain experience it gets easier.
You will learn how to avoid the pitfalls.....starting with having faith in Camping World.
You will learn who you can trust and who you simply can't. You will learn that the RVv warranty is a big charade and not as helpful or useful as you want it to be.
You will learn that it is best to DIY anything you can if you are capable.
Nevertheless many of us still love the RV game and have learned to navigate the many shortcomings
