From Island life to TT life

Good day!
We have a plan....sort of! We have a unique situation. We currently live on St. Thomas and plan on moving to Florida. But, one of two things needs to happen; either our business sells or we move in one year. I'm hoping for the sale!!

In order to rent most places require proof of a job and we won't have that. Our job search begins as soon as we get to Florida. So, my sister suggested we get a TT because we won't know exactly where we will get jobs. We don't want to rent a place and end up getting jobs 3 hours away. That will also allow us to save money to buy a house in the future.

So, we have begun to research. There is so much involved that we have started a notebook! We have found several TT's we really like mostly they are front kitchen models. Since we are going to be living in it full time we want a nice kitchen and living area. Between a 29 or 32 foot. We have realized that cuts out quite a few models. We don't want to rush into anything but we won't have the luxury of months to find something either. So, my question is ......is there one location to look at a bunch of pre owned TT? It doesn't necessarily have to be in Florida either. Is it better to watch craigslist and deal with a private owner? Knowing that we will be in Florida are there other features we should be looking for? We have budgeted between $15,000 and $20,000.

I know there is a lot more involved so we look forward to reading the forums and learning about the full time TT life.

Thanks a bunch!!

RVTrader.com has both new and used listings from all over the country with many filters to narrow the search. Dealer vs. owner question depends on you. Some prefer to negotiate with a dealer to get some sense of security in the quality of the TT. Others deal with the owner comfortable in their abilities to spot a lemon or accept the consequences if they can't. Do what you prefer. Also, since you really aren't looking for mobility, you might also consider a park style TT that doesn't have holding tanks but does have more S&B construction.
