From the Redwood Forest

We're new members ... recent retirees in Northern California's Redwood Forest ... Humboldt County ... yeah, that other stuff grows here too. We live on 18ac near Fortuna, CA. I'm a certified massage therapist. My wife plays accordion.

We pulled (06 Dodge dually) our Northwood Nash 27TT to the Grand Canyon last October and then made a cross-country run (8K miles) to Juno Beach, FL this February. Boy, the I-10 will kick your butt in parts of TX and LA but we had no major problems. Ate some 'gator, heard some music, saw the Gulf Coast trying to make a comeback from storm damage, bad economy, and greasy beaches. They're trying hard but the "for sale" signs are more plentiful than tourists.

We're planning on making the run to Fairbanks via Alaska Highway in summer '13. We're doing the research and always interested in advice.
Hope to learn something here.

Hi and

I live in AK 6 months or so out of the year, if I can answer any questions about Alaska please ask.

Be sure to buy a copy of The Milepost, a must for any Alaska trip.

welcome, gezrfun. I have been to the redwoods and they are awesome. I plan on returning someday. Don't get discouraged about I10 and greasy coast, it is slowly getting better. Come back and visit us sometime soon. Help keep Louisiana green, bring lots of money!!!
