Full Timing since Oct. 2012

Looks like I joined IRV2 around the time we began full timing 2 years ago, but I have not been very active until recently, so thought I'd introduce myself and share a little about our RV adventures.

My husband and I purchased a 2011 Newmar Dutch Star in the spring of 2011 & in May, we took our first road trip to Tulsa, OK where my half sister and my niece and her family live. On our return trip to Minneapolis, we made stops in St. Joseph, MO and Sioux Falls, SD.

My husband was working full time, so we located a small campground in Howard Lake, MN about 45 mins due west of the Twin Cities where we parked the RV for the remainder of the summer, spending weekends driving back and forth to the cities until October.

In October we packed the RV and took another road trip spending a week in my home state of WV before going a little further south making stops in Colombia, SC & Atlanta, GA and returning to Minneapolis just ahead of the first snowfall.

We stored the RV at a Public Storage Lot that winter and couldn't wait for springtime to go camping again.

In May 2012 we left MN & took I 90 to Mt. Rushmore, the Rocky Mountains, Sedona and Malibu Beach. Then we decided to drive across the southern part of the U.S. to southern WV before returning to Minneapolis.

By this time, we were hooked and began talking about going full time. Later in the summer, my husband made the decision to quit his job and we began the process of downsizing with a plan to spend the winter somewhere warm.

In September we secured the last available parking space at Gulf Waters RV Resort in Ft. Myers, FL. On the return trip to MN, we stopped in Memphis, TN and toured Graceland before returning to MN.

We spent last summer in Pequot Lakes near Brainerd Lakes, MN. In August we made our way to a campground in southeastern, WI to visit family & friends before heading east to Bar Harbor, ME.

We spent last winter at Mesa Regal RV Resort in Mesa, AZ where we did work camping. We left Mesa mid April and we have spent the last couple of months making our way back to MN via the CA, OR & WA coast with a stop in Seattle before heading east again.

Planning to spend the remainder of the summer at Town & Country RV Campground in Savage, MN. Hoping to sell our town home in Burnsville that we have been renting for the past 3 years.

Nice to see a fello Minnesotan livin' their dream. Hopefully I won't be too far behind you but will have to catch-up for the head start you got on me.

Keep everyone abreast of your adventures. Happy trails and be safe.

Hey thanks all! Spent July - mid Oct updating our town house. My husband REALLY wanted to try For Sale By Owner, but a realtor convinced us to let him try to sell it for us. It was an offer we couldn't refuse. Left Town & Country RV Campground Sun morning. Staying in Effingham, IL tonight. We only have 5 states left in the lower U.S. to add to our travel map & LA & AR are 2 of them. Should be in AR tomorrow night. Will probably stay in AR a couple of nights. LA from there and then on to Rockledge, FL for the winter. Where are you headed????Click image for larger version

peham,

Sounds like the life! I am sure retirement and RVing is better than working and the S&B anyway. Can't wait until it is our turn. Keep us posted as to your travels and some pics always help. Welcome back!
