Future full-timer in CA looking to buy first MH

Hello Everyone!

I plan to become a full-timer and am doing my research on a first RV. The process is crazy! I have waffled from 5th wheel to MH, back to 5th wheel and then back again to MH again! From what I have read in forums and blogs from other full timers, I guess that's not uncommon!
After 6 months of back and forth I am getting very close now to pulling the trigger on a purchase. I have narrowed it down to Newmar, mainly for the quality, features and reputation. I thought I might go Tiffin but I have a gut feeling Newmar may be just a tad better (Sidewall construction looks better, C-channel studs, fiberglass sidewalls that are not glued or suctioned = fewer delamination concerns). I'm deciding between a 34 or 37 foot Ventana. Any input that anyone has for a solo, first-timer purchase would be invited. Additionally, anyone have any thoughts on whether or not I should spend the extra to get the Dutch Star over the Ventana?
Thank! L

Welcome. To save some money, be sure to get out of California before you make the purchase. Get your residence estsblished in a low/no sales tax state. Waffling between the two is a hard decision. Personally I feel fivers are better for me. but many others feel the opposite. Dont forget to include a toad to run around with when your parked for a period of time.
If you have never owned an RV before I would strongly suggest buying used and, keep the cost as low as possible. It is very likely that you will be looking for something diferent after a few months living in it.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

The two MHs you are considering are very nice coaches. The Dutch Star does have some advantages over the Ventana. To some people they are important to others they are not. You are the only one that can decide what is going to be the best choice for you.

Happy Trails!!!

Welcome. Both rigs are nice so go by what suits you best. Enjoy your travels and if you ever make it to CA send a wave out.
