Getting Ready for Full Time (Newbies)

Hi Everyone!

DH and I are in the planning stages of our transition to full-timing. We had the opportunity to own a Coachmen Class C for a while, and it gave us the bug to retire and hit the road.

We have been researching tirelessly. We're pretty sure we want a Newmar DP, with the model depending on how much we get from the sale of our house. We are aiming for Fall of 2015 to begin our new adventure.

In the meantime, we are reading, asking questions, visiting dealerships and watching lots of YouTube videos pertaining to RVs and RV living.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of the forum, and I apologize in advance if I ask stupid questions.

Blessings!

Linda (& Don)

The only stupid question is the one not asked, and therefore not learned from.
Wishing you the best in your future endeavors.

Welcome to the Forum and best of luck on finding that perfect MH. We have been happy with our used Newmar Dutchstar DP. Bought it at Independence RV in Winter Garden, FL and the service has been excellent.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I appreciate the warm wishes! We are so excited about our plans and cannot wait to get on the road and embrace the full time lifestyle. We know we will meet many wonderful people (maybe some of you!) and it's going to be a blast.

As I said, we are researching like crazy; scouring through forums, blogs, books, and of course, window shopping. We want to make sure we make the best decisions we can and are therefore planning very carefully, all while we go through the decades of "stuff" we've accumulated. I am selling things on eBay, Craigslist, etc. to get the house decluttered and ready to sell. Also painting, cleaning, updating here and there. It's a lot of work! But we know that it will be worth it.

The good thing is, we have a pretty good idea of the floor plans we like and some of the things we need, and things we can live without. So, the plan is in place and God willing, we will be joining your ranks soon.

Thanks again for the welcome.
Linda

Welcome to the irv2 gang, Linda & Don! Congrats on your retirement plans and the change to full-timing. It took us a little over a year to research our choices when we started back on RVing. Sounds like you are well along the road to finding that perfect coach. Good luck with the research; I'm sure you will find a lot of useful info here! It sure did help us!
