Greetings everyone:

Brett and I are so excited and almost ready to hit the road.
He is going semi retired at age 40,and we are headed to the mountains of North Carolina around mid April.
We have lined up our work camping jobs, although alot of volunteer work will be done there as well.
We will soon be calling Rplace our true home. Rplace is a 35' custom Dutchman 5'er
We say "Custom" only because it has OUR names all over the new interior/exterior. Wow! So many hours in on this "project".
I cannot imagine us trying to have done this though without all the great tips, ideas, and inputs from everyone here. With the wide range of subjects posted, I think you all have gotten us through alot already...lol And we are very thankful to have ran across such a great group!

Hope to see some of you on the road, take care, be safe...and look for us in the mountains this Spring.

Linda & Brett

Welcome to iRV2, we’re really glad to have you here as a new member and are looking forward to reading your posts about your full timing RVing experiences and adventures. You’ll find a great bunch of folks on this site who are very knowledgeable of RVing, the rigs we use, and the places we go in them.

If you're in the area of Mayberry, NC around mid April, you might drop in on the Appalachian Campers' Spring Rally that we're having there. We have two spaces left that haven't been taken. We'd love to have you join us.

Again, welcome to iRV2, we’re glad you joined.

Thanks for the warm welcomes.
We will definetly be posting about our travels, work experiences, and show pix of just how much we have transformed the Dutchman.
My Mother who lives in Indiana, wants to see pix of our progress, but I have told Brett that I don't dare send her pix just yet--I know that might be too much on her heart and she would definetly move us up to the top of the prayer list~
But the work on it will be done in a few weeks, and Rplace will be road worthy and ready to roll.

We probably won't make the Spring Rally in Mayberry, but sure do hope to get to other events over time to meet some of you.

Linda & Brett, congratulations and welcome to iRV2. The 5'er sounds like an exciting project. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Hope all goes well with the NC job. As for that warm Florida sunshine how about sending it to NH and help us melt the snow.

Oh to only be able to bottle up some of this sunshine...seems many have wanted it this winter. It is to be 78 degrees and sunshine again here today.
But being originally from southern Indiana, I have had my share of the cold and snow.

~~~Sending thoughts of warmth and sunshine your way~~ Let me know if it helps...lol
Question Thought we would update on our project and us being on the road now~
Brett and I are in NC now. We left Tampa on Good Friday and we pulled in to the Vance Toe River Lodge/Campground Easter Sunday morning.
I have been keeping a journal (although it's only been a week now) and I am trying to find a good website to use to post on with it.
Hitchhiker? Anyone? any good input on any of the sites that others might use to blog or post their journals on? Our Sprint aircard connection here is slower than a dial up I think...Brett says it's just like the mountain living, to be on a much slower pace! It is time consuming to try to upload alot of pictures and to get alot of web pages to load, but we putt through it.
We absolutely love it here in the mountains! No regrets at all in selling the house, and downsizing! We are getting ready to experience our first work camping here. The season officially opens Mother's Day weekend here.
This is a family owned campground, but they have much much more than just the campground. I don't think we could have picked any better place to be. OR people to work for and be around. The Young family is so warm, friendly and accommodating! They treat us as family here.
I plan to install some blogging software for members of iRV2 to makes posts along their journey's. I'll try to get it setup this week and have someone PM you. We'd love to have you blogging here on our community for everyone to see. It's as simple as posting to the forums!
Andy:
New blogging software would be fantastic on here. We would definitely contribute and give an input there!
For now, I am keeping an online camping journal of sorts on our yahoo page found here:
http://360.yahoo.com/rplace2000
Still trying to get a few pictures to load on there, but I'll get the kinks worked out soon (I Hope)
