Good Bye Toy Hauler

Finally got out of my large toy hauler and into a 2015 Newmar Dutch Star 4369. Now I can pull my jeep as a toad or pull my trailer with toys and keep the dirt outside! It took about 300 miles of driving to finally get comfortable operating the RV. It is much easier driving 43' than pulling 43' the turning radius is unbelievable. Can not wait until Labor Day weekend for my first camping trip, all I can do now is read the books and try to figure out how to do things correctly.
Does the generator trump the shore power or is it like the toy hauler shore power trumps the genset. This is one

Shore power will be the active system. Your transfer switch does this automatically for you. Best of luck with your DS.

In ours generator trumps shore power. Some say it is not good to start the generator while hooked to active shore power. The switch over will cause the transfer switch to arc when there is power on both sides leading to early demise of the switch.

Did learn the hard way, I need some type of extension for my trailers. I was trying to back up with 14' trailer and Jack knifed trailer. I was listening to my wife instead of looking in the rear view camera. I blamed it on her she was talking to me via side window Kinda forgot about trailer. A 500 dollar lesson.
