A good day to you all. My name is Eric. I recently purchased a 2011 Monaco Vesta in Maryland and drove south to place it into storage in Atlanta while I fulfill my last couple of years working in Italy for the DoD. As luck would have it I drove right into the eye of the first great winter storm of the season and spent two nights at a Loves truck stop in Salisbury, N.C.! Not a better way to shake down all of the new systems than a full fledged blizzard! I survived. The rig did a great job and now she sits in indoor storage awaiting her new adventure when I retire! Just checking in as the new guy!

Welcome to the fray, Eric! Holy smokes, what a harrowing first run!

Glad you're safe and your rig is all "tucked in". We had quite an experience when we went to pick ours up, too. We went from Arizona to Norco, CA to get her...we hit the road and ended up in 60 MPH winds. I was following my dear David in our van.

I decided to exit, and he ended up taking an exit about 5 miles up the road. Just as he exited the ramp...BANG! BANG! BANG! He had no idea what all the racket was, and when he pulled over, he found the awning had not been locked down properly and it had unfurled and was SLAMMING against the motorhome! Thank goodness nothing was damaged! We had to spend four days in a parking lot somewhere in CA, while the wind rocked and swayed us constantly. We sure were grateful when we left California!
