Greetings!

Hello, Everyone! My hubby and I have just purchased our first RV and I have been reading everything that I can get to learn as much as possible. I'm so thankful to draw from everyone else's experience! We aren't new to camping, but certainly new to RV-life. We are looking forward to seeing the country through the windshield of our 'new' mini-motorhome.

We took our 'rig' out to our local campground to practice set up and tear down. I created a checklist and used my smartphone to take pics of the process. I bought a membership to Good Sam's Club and their Roadside Assistance Plan. We're planning our first 'real' road trip next week. Wish us luck! I'll keep searching specific threads/topics.

Thanks for hosting such a great site! I'll be back often, looking for tips and tricks from experienced travelers!

Safe travels.
Hope

Welcome! Good idea to use your phone to record the process. We did that for our manual awning set up and tear down as we did it just infrequently enough to forget the sequence.

Hope:

Sounds like a good shake down cruise. My wife and I live full time in a MH (motorhome) since 05 and have haunted your part of the country a few times having taken our rig into Nappanee for servicing. We've always enjoyed that area. Have fun on your trip to Memphis.

Just a heads up in Memphis. I had done my first TT adventure and stopped at Mississippi River RV Park on my way back home. I'll just say I sent Good Sam a nasty Email for approving that place. On the other end of the spectrum, if you want some awesome BBQ, ask where the Charle's Vergos Rendevous is. We had the ribs, wow. Have fun.

Steve & Lynette,

That part of Indiana is a good ride for my hubby and I on the Harleys. You can grab some great Amish food there! I hope that you don't visit Indiana for service to your rv, that doesn't sound like fun! Safe travels!

Salty,

Thanks for the heads up! We are staying at Graceland RV Park, we hope it's a good choice. I am more nervous about the Casino Queen RV Park in East St. Louis. From reading, the park is secure...but in a very poor area. I am looking forward to some awesome BBQ and Blues!

Appreciate the advice!
